Adapt, improvise and overcome.
Is the current reality, the new normal?
For
utmost 1 complete year, we’ve been prisoners to the biological hazard, which
reminded us to appreciate the little things that we didn’t appreciate as much
before. The world at large was in need to get out to breathe fresh air.
But do you know the question for
which we don’t have a clear answer to? Is that, when will we be able to travel
fearlessly? For many, travel is an
escape from the busy life while for others it’s a way of living. It’s upsetting to know that it won’t get better
like before any soon rather get
more complicated, but we need to compromise with it.
As travel is gradually resuming we
realise that it will be different in the post-pandemic world. This ‘New Normal’
has drastically changed us as individuals – be it the fear of forgetting mask
like the fear of forgetting wallet before getting out, moreover we are prone to
think twice before touching anything. It’s not just the passport that we need to carry,
moreover getting the rt pcr test done before even thinking to travel. Even after getting the test done we are asked to quarantine for almost 2 weeks. We witness
checking of temperature at every public place. We have become cautious beyond expected,
nevertheless there are still countries with peak cases. In these places,
resuming travel becomes more intricate and risky.
Contrarily, the world can’t be
locked inside forever. As we were caged in, we strived for freedom; freedom to
move out fearlessly. It definitely changed, but did we get utter freedom? We
could go out but with masks on which is very exhausting - so called as “Mask
Fatigue”. So are we really satisfied with the life we are living right now?
Yes, we get to travel but so many restrictions comes with it. We are aiming for
the life we lived before the pandemic hit the world but we slowly started
realizing that we are coming in terms with the ‘New normal’. All we have to do is adapt, improvise and overcome because that is what we have been doing since centuries when the world meets the air of uncertainty. Over this period
we experienced more like we were in a mental cage than in a physical cage. It
has become a requisite to release the prisoners and let them be. Anxiety has
overshadowed other emotions of the human brain. In conclusion, it has become
very important for the world to get out and travel by overcoming the
circumstances that comes our way.
